Tsolife/nomadic
From Travelling School of Life
I used to spend much of my time isolated behind a computer , but a few years ago , I started travelling , and going to meetings all over europe.
I started by interacting with international youth organizations , but evolved investing myself more and more in more informal and flexible meetings and networks, especially after finding I could live with very little ressources and be free to move anywhere in europe within 36 hours by hitch hiking )
I am looking forward to develop solutions for financing nomadic activists , and since it might still take some time to develop the economic opportunities out of such lifestyle and nomadic networks ,
I believe that informal micro sponsorship would be a good option - see: http://www.oikoumene.be/magichat
Me and some of my nomadic friends need 5 to 10 euros a day to live comfortably while being extremely mobile / hitch hiking ( or other ways of travelling depending on ressources available. )
But it is also possible to travel with less ( such as 50 euros a month ) when using personal contacts , hospitality networks such as http://www.hospitalityclub.org or http://www.couchsurfing.com , and feeling comfortable with fasting once in a while.
Some other ideas related to such activist and nomadic lifestyle + movements expressed here:
http://www.oikoumene.be/openworld
I am currently trying to connect or open up autonomous spaces to make it possible for nomads to also have spaces where they can live for some time while having meetings , discussing projects , and eventually also grow or produce some of the basic ressources they need ( prosuming and/or other small businesses , around mouvements with own logistics , currency , and decision making solutions ? )
But because we are nomads , and often end up living depending on the local people we meet ( hospitality , food , travelling by hitch hiking ... ) we spend much of our time being confronted and living directly the issues the friends we make on our road are confronted to , and we dont necessarily need to close ourselves on a community.
As nomads, we can share connections to other ideas, solutions , and human ressources we got in touch with wherever we go, and we can facilitate new opportunities and solutions , while still using ICT but not staying isolated behind our screens.
I believe hospitality platforms can be a good start to develop such mouvements ( hospitality club has more then 160000 members - and growing steadily , and Couchsurfing has several dozens of members too - the last informal / low budget hospitality camp that i attended counted almost 700 people from all over europe )
